It Was Everything | Photography by Veronica Maltoni

“We took these photographs at the beach. This couple really loves the sea, and they were actually a bit discouraged because of the weather, but I told them that this kind of weather was even more reason. They loved it!  After having lots of clients and thanks to my studies, I am at a place in my work where I can easily understand the couple’s dynamic. I know it is going to be a great session when he starts off by opening the door for her. There was a delicacy and respect towards one another.  This is the best place to start because genuine feelings for each other help the couple to feel at ease in front of the camera. They’re two young parents and a young couple but their feelings for each other showed in the little things.

Before the day of the session,  I always ask the mother if she has a few ideas in mind or if she has a few images she would like to have done. In the end it’s what I would like to have as a client. This mother did bring me some objects to provide inspiration, we talked about the what she was hoping for with these images. I liked that. I love to have space for what is my vision but also be sure to have the mother and the family totally satisfied!

I remember feeling all the emotions when I was pregnant ~ being preoccupied with all the changes and at the same time amazed to see what nature was doing without your rational help. The first moment my son kicked me, it was pure joy, mixed with “I don’t understand how can it possibly be”. It was everything.  It was laughs and commotions, happiness and worries, doubts and the certainty that I was becoming a mom, and that it was an experience that you can’t compare with anything else. You know all this, but the vision gets clearer in the moment you feel the skin of your little baby on your tummy. Words can’t explain all of this adequately, but I hope images will make these memories last forever.” Veronica, Photographer
