“”Mother” is ingrained into the deepest fibers of my being, although I didn’t realize it until giving birth to my son. I’ve always had a soft spot for the idea of motherhood, and have always felt drawn to documenting the nurturing way a mother cares for her little one. But it wasn’t until entering into this season that I realized in having a child, I was becoming who I was always meant to be. I realized this is why I love documenting motherhood. It is an honor to capture this season for other women, as they evolve from one version of themselves to another. 

Emily and I are kindred spirits. We met in college, both earning education degrees and ultimately choosing to pursue photography. We both struggled to conceive our children. Both drawn to the art of motherhood. When she contacted me seeking a maternity session, it was truly one of the biggest honors of my career because I know the value she places in not only photography, but in motherhood photography specifically. My heart knows the ways her heart waited years to meet the sweet babies she carries within her. Documenting this season for her was truly my joy.”  Nikki, Photographer
