“Nine times out of ten I’m the one behind the camera taking pictures of my two boys so it was so nice to have someone capture photos of me with them. These childhood years go by really fast so I know we all will cherish having these moments in time documented. The pictures came out so beautiful and really capture Charlie and Sam just being themselves in our favorite surroundings. Motherhood has been the greatest gift and I often times have a difficult time really conveying just how special it is. Yes, it’s extremely challenging at times (and sticky and full of crumbs) but it’s also a role I would never trade. Even after my most difficult day with them that had me running for a glass of wine, you can bet I still sneak into their room when they’re sleeping and take pictures of them all snuggled up.” Caitlin, Mother
“I loved working with Caitlin and her two sons, Sam and Charlie. I have a daughter and seem to photograph girls more often than boys, so it was very neat to watch the different dynamic of a mother/son relationship and how they interact with one another. These two boys love their Mama. The session took place at the beach where they spend a lot of their Summer days and we just let the boys roam around and explore. Sammy loved just being in his Mom’s arms while Charlie collected seashells and throwing rocks into the water. Being a mother is the most fulfilling role I have ever had. I love watching other mothers with their children and catching those small moments that are the biggest ones to them. My heart aches at how fast the seasons go and I pray each day to slow down and be present for each moment in my own daughter’s life. Photographing mothers and their children is my way of bottling up those seasons for them so that they may have them forever.” Lauren, Photographer
