“To say becoming a mother has been my life’s biggest dream is an understatement. There is nothing in this world I have ever desired more, and to be in the position I am right now, 7 months pregnant, is truly surreal. It is both a scary and empowering feeling to know that the existence of my son relies on my own and that in just a few months time, a tiny innocent babe will know me as his mother. The capabilities of my body are astounding, and though it may not always be a flattering scenario, creating and sustaining another’s life will always be beautiful.
Throughout this all-new process, in the highs and the lows I have held onto one sage piece of comfort: Jesus loves this baby more than I ever could. And when I really get to thinking about it, it becomes so difficult to wrap my mind around that truth. What I feel for my son…THIS is the love the Father feels, maximized by infinity. So whenever I am overwhelmed and anxious about the struggles my new status will bring, I go back to His love. Constant, unconditional & unwavering. Because of this, fear and doubt have no place in our family of three.
These photos capture everything I hoped that they would. They highlight the love and devotion my husband and I have for one another, and they offer just a glimpse of the pride, adoration, and insurmountable joy that we feel toward our son. Jesus has moved mountains to get us to where we are in this season and our lives could not be any more blessed.” Kait, Expectant Mother
“I first met Kait a handful of years ago when she began coming to my church. Right from the start, one thing was clear – Kait loved kids! Eventually she went on to marry her long-time boyfriend and, within the first year of marriage they decided to start their family. It’s been so much fun to watch her grow into her role as a mother, and to see how Ryan is caring so well for her and for their little guy. We recently met up at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills to document this beautiful stage of life for them as a couple, and also to celebrate their first year and a half as a married couple. Their love and adoration for each other is obvious, as is their humor in the little things and how they don’t take life too seriously. I am so excited for them and can’t wait to meet their little guy!!” Alicia, Photographer
