“My husband and I are from New Hampshire, and when we traveled to Charleston for the first time a year ago, we absolutely fell in love with it. The beautiful architecture, delicious food, kind people and southern charm left a lasting impression with both of us. With this being our first child, it was really important for us to take some time to plan a long weekend away just the two of us. When we started to plan our “baby-moon”, we knew that Charleston was the right place. We thought it would be really special to have maternity photos taken there since it holds a special place in our hearts. After doing some research, we came across Alex’s work and really fell in love with her soft, romantic style. She was incredibly sweet and friendly and made us both feel at ease in front of the camera (not an easy task!). This season of our lives has been so special and full of excitement and anticipation; having these photos will be a lasting reminder of this time in our lives and something we will cherish for years to come.
While this season of pregnancy has been joyful and exciting, it’s also been overwhelming and challenging at times. It’s shown me that I’m not in control, and that’s okay. It’s forced me to let go of insecurities, feelings of inadequacy, and the fear of the unknown and trust the Lord to lead me through it and equip me with all I need to be a good mother. Motherhood isn’t about having it all together, or knowing everything about parenthood. It’s about surrounding yourself with others who have been there and can help lead you through it, and leaning on others when you feel discouraged. I’ve learned that motherhood looks different for everyone. It’s beautiful, messy, selfless, challenging and so much more. As we anticipate the arrival of our little girl, we can rest in knowing that God is in control and His plan is more perfect than anything we could orchestrate ourselves. While I may not know exactly what to expect when it comes to motherhood, and exactly what that will look like for me – I know that I won’t be in it alone.” Elisabeth, Expectant Mother
“Elisabeth and Corey are a photographer’s dream. They are easy going, clearly very in love, and have such a welcoming kindness. The way they care for each other is beyond inspiring, and I know will translate into each of them being truly wonderful parents. Getting to photograph motherhood is such a treat. Celebrating the beautiful, intentionally nourished relationship between a husband and wife is a dream — and add to that their future parenthood, and it’s simply a joy to witness and capture.” Alex, Photographer
