“Having Cassie take these photographs of our family was such a special gift to me. I’m aware that as mothers, we tend to be the documenters of our daily lives and our children. I love this role. But, like most of the mothers I know, there are far fewer photographs of me with my children than there are of my husband with them, or with our kids by themselves. I knew not investing in this would be something I’d regret—that these days are passing more quickly than I’d ever imagined they could, and that I needed to have these photographs of us together, me and them, before this season has vanished into another memory. I’m so glad we have these, and that Cassie is the artist behind them.” Jessica, Mother
“This session was really special for me. Jessica is a fellow photographer, so I think we both really understand how important it is to document life as it passes and also the natural tendency to be hidden in memories, being the ones who capture them. As mothers, there is an endless list of things to do, but it’s such a treasure to get to slow down and simply love on our little ones. To have that captured and frozen in a photograph is an even bigger treasure. When I’m looking to photograph a motherhood, there are no rules. I’m going to sit back and direct in the slightest way and let the naturalness of moments unfold. I want mothers to see themselves completely for their strength and love when they look at the images. Life and motherhood is messy, but my passion is highlighting the very best of it, the “why” of it all, our love for our children.” Cassie, Photographer
