This family was intentional with every part of their little girs’ nursery. We hope you’ll be inspired to create a space to share in your home after viewing these images and hearing from Marianne’s heart about the way she and her husband planned this very special space in their home.” The Fount Editorial Team

“I absolutely adored working with the Hayden family. Just days after Harper was born I went over to their home to document this new season in their lives. I feel so privileged that I get to capture those intimate moments between parents and their baby just days after their little one is born. It was especially fun with this new family of three, well, four with goldendoodle, Riley! There were so many special moments during our session and I love that they can look back on this day and relive it through photos.” ShelbyRae, PhotographerNewborn Photography by ShelbyRae Photographs and featured on The Fount Collective, a lifestyle community and publication devoted to the art of being a mother_0001 Newborn Photography by ShelbyRae Photographs and featured on The Fount Collective, a lifestyle community and publication devoted to the art of being a mother_0003

“I knew I wanted a soft, cozy feel with white, grey, and blush tones. My favorite thing about the nursery is that EVERYONE who comes over to visit says, “It feels so cozy and calm in here,” which is exactly what I was going for. I also wanted to make it a functional space for Harper and her development so we chose a bookshelf that was lower to the ground, within her reach when she starts to crawl. We added the mirror over her changing table so she can make faces at her self. Anytime she is fussy, I bring her to the mirror and she laughs so hard! I placed Pehr Designs baskets of bibs, burp cloths and swaddles within reach of my nursing chair which has been really helpful too.Newborn Photography by ShelbyRae Photographs and featured on The Fount Collective, a lifestyle community and publication devoted to the art of being a mother_0004 Newborn Photography by ShelbyRae Photographs and featured on The Fount Collective, a lifestyle community and publication devoted to the art of being a mother_0006

Blush was my main theme (I didn’t really want a true pink nursery) and to tie the room together, we commissioned a painting from Michelle Hayo, a friend and artist. We asked her to paint an abstract piece to hang above Harper’s crib. It is my hope that this can be something Harper hangs in her home one day and continues to pass down through the generations.  Now that she has just turned 6 months, we spend so much time in her room, teaching her to roll over and reading her books in the evening. I absolutely love how her nursery has become such an important space in our home!Newborn Photography by ShelbyRae Photographs and featured on The Fount Collective, a lifestyle community and publication devoted to the art of being a mother_0005 Newborn Photography by ShelbyRae Photographs and featured on The Fount Collective, a lifestyle community and publication devoted to the art of being a mother_0007

We are so grateful for the special moments that Shelby was able to capture when Harper was just two weeks old. Those first initial weeks were a beautifully exhausting time so I love being able to look back on these sweet pictures and seeing how happy (and tired) we were just trying to survive! My favorite photo is the one of our mini golden doodle Riley trying to give slobbery kisses to my husband while he holds Harper. It’s like she is saying, “Dad, I was your first child so don’t forget about me!” Such a fun photoshoot and I will treasure these forever.” Marianne, Mother
