“When I first felt the desire to grow our family, it didn’t come easy or quickly. But while waiting, we prayed every day for our little one, and looking back now, it’s evident God was giving us time to enjoy ourselves as newlyweds. Little did I know how much my life would change. Though my first year as a new mom was crazy, I wouldn’t have had it any other way. My daughter taught me so much more than I think I could have taught her. She showed me how to enjoy the simple things, and during those late night feeds, how presence is really all that matters. Motherhood is always worth the wait. And when it happens, your life will never be the same. Everyday, I feel like I’m growing and changing alongside her.

These photos were a gift to our family before my daughter’s first birthday. Having had to wait some time when we were trying to conceive, it was so important to me to have our family photographed to celebrate our first year as a family of three. Being able to return to the location of our maternity photos added even more sentimentality. (They were also taken by Dana and featured on Fount.)
