“I am now the mama of a beautiful, spirited 8-week-old. The “fourth trimester” has been the most challenging, yet rewarding season of my life thus far. I’ve found comfort in the shared experiences of fellow mothers struggling with saying goodbye to their old identities while learning how to navigate their new roles as mothers. It was important to me to document this challenging season through photographs with Coop and Mason. Motherhood has come to mean the world to me. It means I get to experience the deepest love imaginable. It means a life of sacrifice in order to give my baby the best life possible.” Emily, Mother
“I’ve photographed this incredible couple – Emily and Coop – since their engagement session! They’ve become good friends of mine through the process and it’s been amazing to watch their love story transform with each step. About a year after their wedding, they announced they were pregnant with their first baby. I was so excited to be able to document their pregnancy and watch their family grow. Coop and Emily are opposite personalities, so I’ve loved watching them balance each other out through this potentially anxious time. I suggested Crane Beach in Ipswich, Massachusetts at sunrise. This is a beautiful local nature preserve with incredible trails in the dunes. We had the most beautiful sunrise over the Atlantic Coast, and the light made Emily absolutely glow.
Maternity sessions are one of my favorite things to photograph because there is such a sense of calm and anticipation in the portraits. In this case, it was Coop and Emily’s first baby, and they seemed so prepared and ready for Mason to arrive. This session in particular was during an incredibly gorgeous sunrise on Crane Beach. The soft golden light made for some incredible landscapes, and beautifully reflected how sweet the moment was.” Catherine, Photographer
