“Motherhood has been a wild journey, especially this pregnancy. I’ve heard that every pregnancy is different and I didn’t expect my second pregnancy to be so difficult compared to my first – but I was wrong. It took a bigger toll on me physically, emotionally, and mentally. However, it’s also helped me cherish the 9 to 10 months I had with my first born before the second joins us. This season has been so special, and my daughter has given me so much strength. I’ve learned that there is a special grace for moms, and sometimes, you need the comfort and love of your children more than they may need it from you.
I wanted to make sure we had pictures of our family of three before we became a family of four! I also wanted to celebrate our daughter, Rachael, before our son, Levi, joins us, and have some memories documented of just the three of us. With our first, we had a more challenging time conceiving, so the fact that the second pregnancy happened so fast was a sweet surprise. We are excited to look back at this time and remember God’s goodness over our family.” Christina, Expectant Mother
“It’s always such a joy to photograph this family because they are some of our closest friends. We returned to The Rockefeller State Preserve because it is a sentimental location for them. Both their maternity and first family portrait sessions were photographed here. It only seemed fitting to return to this place that is so special for this family. We’ve had the privilege of walking with them through their journey of struggling to conceive with their first daughter, and now the joy of conceiving their son!
With each progressive season of motherhood, I get to capture new promises, deeper joy, fuller hearts. Transitions can be bittersweet; with the addition of new life, routines and dynamics are forever changed. These sessions are so special because we get to pause amidst the whirlwind of changes about to take place, cherish all that the past season held and make room for the new.” Dana, Photographer
