I think all newborn photos are just beautiful, and I wanted our daughter’s photos to be timeless and classic and represent how completely in awe of her we felt (and still feel). She fits in perfectly and completes our little family, and I think those photos really bring that to life. Our photographer, Natalie, and I have actually known each other since we were children! I used to visit my friend Danielle, in Florida every summer and the three of us would play in her cul-de-sac. When we reconnected at Danielle’s wedding (after having not seen each other for over twenty years!), I knew that if I were to ever have children, I wanted her to be the one to photograph our newborn session. She is absolutely amazing at what she does behind the camera! I know I’ll cherish these images forever – long after she’s moved out and has a family of her own.

My husband and I both never expected to have children; it didn’t really seem to fit in to what we planned for our lives. When I asked my own mom about her experience, she shared that becoming a mother opened up an entirely new spectrum of emotions that you would never be able to feel unless you were a mother – and to me, that is the only way to describe motherhood. Being a new mother has certainly been as hard as everyone had warned me about, but it has also brought really fun surprises. I feel like my child’s face is so new to me and yet so familiar at the same time. I drop into bed at the end of the night, exhausted from spending the whole day with her, only to go through my phone and look at her photos until I fall asleep. I can’t wait to see who she grows up to be, and yet I want time to stop entirely so she stays this sweet forever. And I think this is the hallmark of motherhood: a constant tension between brain and heart, being present while also always looking ahead, and a primal, almost irrational love for your child that makes all of it make sense.” Kristin, MotherJackonsville, Florida Newborn Session photographed by Natalie Broach and featured on The Fount Collective_0002 Jackonsville, Florida Newborn Session photographed by Natalie Broach and featured on The Fount Collective_0003

“This sweet newborn session was a dream to photograph. I flew from Florida to San Francisco to photograph their precious newborn, Poppy, in their apartment which had the most amazing light. Kristen was a bridesmaid in a wedding I photographed in Hawaii and I’ll never forget her saying to me, “ when I have a baby, I’m flying you out to photograph our newborn session.” That’s obviously the highest compliment any photographer can be given! To think someone loves your work so much they would want to fly you out to photograph one of their most memorable moments in their lives is such an honor. Well, she was one hundred percent serious and I couldn’t have been any more thrilled to receive a message from her.

As new parents, newborn session can be a bit of a fog between the lack of sleep, new emotions and taking care of a new life that belongs to you. Working with this lovely family was like a dream. Kristen and Anthony were the most laid back, sweetest and most photographic couple I could have ever hoped for. I had been looking forward to this session for months, so when Elisabeth “Poppy” made her arrival, I was so excited! She is just as cute and sweet as her name and was the most perfect angel the entire session. They fell effortlessly into gorgeous poses and I love that they even included their adorable fur baby, Linus. There were so many moments during the session of quiet laughing and being in awe at all the newborn cuteness in front of us.  As they cuddled into one another, their love for each other and their sweet baby girl was beyond precious. Even Linus wanted in on the baby snuggles which led to the most amazing photos!  With every click of my camera and roll of film changed, the pictures continued to get sweeter. One of my favorite things about my job is not just capturing beautiful moments, but getting to meet all the lovely families during one of the happiest time of their lives. It was such an honor to capture Kristen and Anthony with their perfect Poppy and I couldn’t be any more in love with their session.Jackonsville, Florida Newborn Session photographed by Natalie Broach and featured on The Fount Collective_0004 Jackonsville, Florida Newborn Session photographed by Natalie Broach and featured on The Fount Collective_0005

There is just something so beautiful about photographing mothers with their babies. As a new mother myself, I have learned that Motherhood is truly a gift. It comes with its fair share of fears, stress, restless nights and so much more, but with all of that comes a joy like no other. Being able to capture other families during such a memorable time in their lives, while they are feeling every single emotion, is such an amazing privilege.” Natalie, PhotographerJackonsville, Florida Newborn Session photographed by Natalie Broach and featured on The Fount Collective_0006 Jackonsville, Florida Newborn Session photographed by Natalie Broach and featured on The Fount Collective_0007 Jackonsville, Florida Newborn Session photographed by Natalie Broach and featured on The Fount Collective_0008 Jackonsville, Florida Newborn Session photographed by Natalie Broach and featured on The Fount Collective_0009
