“Rachel is also a film photographer, and we first met online via Instagram. I loved getting to know her through social media which made meeting in person that much sweeter. Meeting other mothers who are photographers is always the best! You can talk and relate over so many things, and that’s what we did while also taking pictures. We talked about being business owners, film, motherhood – it was such a great morning.
Rachel and her daughter have a beautiful and natural connection and I adored photographing them. I loved the organic and playful nature of their relationship. To really highlight their relationship, I took these images at a natural light studio. This studio affirmed my love for light-filled, simple backgrounds, where the beauty between mother and child are center stage.
I was 10 years old when I remember being drawn to photographs of mothers with their children. Documenting the beauty of motherhood and family is something I feel called to do and fulfilling that calling is something I’m eternally grateful for and gives me great joy. The great gift of love between mother and child is something to be honored and celebrated and is a large part why I feel so passionate about photographing mothers. I want to create a physical memory for families, and I want children to always know how beautiful their mothers are.” Kelli, Photographer
