“I will be the first to admit that I was the woman who thought maternity photos were unnecessary, even into the early part of my own pregnancy. However, that quickly changed once my bump began to grow and I started to fall in love with this new body and life I was creating. On top of that, being pregnant in the midst of a global pandemic meant we couldn’t celebrate this incredibly special time in the traditional ways by being able to see family and friends or enjoying some ‘final’ experiences with just the two of us. So that made the idea of capturing a moment of this journey through photographs all the more important and special. Pregnancy is such a remarkable but fleeting time, and I am beyond thankful that we have these photos to look back on and remember the magic of it.
As I’m about to become a first-time mom, pregnancy has allowed me the opportunity to work through a lot of my hopes and fears about motherhood. For me, it really boils down to one simple phrase: I will be far from perfect, but I am the perfect mom for my child. That’s the grace I want to allow myself and carry with me at all times. The journey so far has been incredibly special, but I am beyond excited to start this next chapter of my life by fully stepping into that truth.” Briana, Expectant Mother
“I met Briana and Tony on a humid Saturday morning in our hometown of Quincy, IL. Although the parents-to-be live out in Denver, I went to high school with Bri and was thrilled when she reached out about maternity photos! COVID-19 has changed the landscape of pregnancy for many women, so I was excited to be able to capture some special moments for them in the midst of all the chaos.
I think that motherhood changes women in the best of ways. Even before the arrival of your child, you’re radically altering your lifestyle to accommodate your little one(s), and furthermore, you’re more than happy to do it. Expecting mothers exhibit a gratitude that’s almost tangible, and I’m always so inspired after capturing that kind of love.” Justine, Photographer
