“Although this is an exciting moment in time, it is also quite bittersweet. The thought of welcoming another baby girl into our life brings me so much joy, but also sadness that my first is no longer my only. I find myself trying to soak in every second with her and find it all fleeting by too quickly. Photos are timeless, they have a way of capturing that moment in time and when you look at them you can instantly remember your experience and emotion at that time. Even if that emotion is a difficult one, it’s a way to live through your emotions and embrace them.
These are images I will cherish forever. I hope my girls will cherish these photos forever too, and see how I carried them in me and in my arms beaming with pride and love. These photos are so much more than an Instagram worthy moment.
To be a mother is something so extraordinary, It’s hard to put into words. It’s been the greatest, largest life change I’ve experienced. It is a humbling role, it isn’t flawless or perfect, and some days it challenges you so much it’ll bring you to your knees. It has made me who I am. More intentional, patient, grateful, kind, and confident. It has taught me the capacity for unconditional love, and has given me my purpose in life. The ability to create and nurture a life is a privilege not lost on me. And somehow my heart is expanding more as we prepare to welcome our second sweet girl to this world.” Stephanie, Expectant Mother
“Working with this sweet family was a dream. Stephanie reached out when she was very newly pregnant with her second child. We hoped for the best as her pregnancy progressed and everything fell in to place. We found out later she would be giving her daughter a forever friend, a baby sister! Since becoming a mother myself, I find photographing motherhood extremely fulfilling. I am so thankful to be able to connect with other mothers and see the beauty in their relationships with their own children. I am often drawn to the in between moments; a gentle touch, a sweet embrace, a swipe of the hair. I just love those connections between a mother and her child.” Cassandra, Photographer
