“Maternity pictures were important for us to capture this moment in time to cherish forever. We are uncertain if we will have more kids and we never want to forget the moments of pregnancy, especially during uncertain times. Time flies and it is easy to forget the experience. Taking time to capture these exciting times is important. We value photography and the memory and moments captured on film.
Our pups have always been an integral part of our lives from helping introduce us, to helping during our marriage proposal, and booming our daughter’s protectors. There was no question that we would include them in this portrait session! Before we even met and started dating, Tucker was Andy’s wingman as he snuck around the corner of our apartment complex when Luna and I were going outside. It was love at first sight for Luna and Tucker, and they bonded from that moment. A couple of years later, Tucker helped Andy yet again to propose marriage by wearing my engagement ring and a dog tag asking if I would be his Mommy forever. Thus, naturally for us, they needed to be a part of our maternity pictures, as they are our babies helping welcome another baby into our family.
Motherhood is a magical process that only women can experience. To me, motherhood is the ability to multitask between career, pregnancy, and raising an independent, kind, competent human being. Motherhood means putting your child’s needs before your own, selflessness. I take bringing another person into this world and raising them as the most important job a mother can have.” Laura, Expectant Mother
“I have had a long road with motherhood, I feel – in some ways – I have experienced the full spectrum … from years of infertility and miscarriages that left me longing for my own children; to high-risk pregnancies and birth complications, to finally having two beautiful babies of our own. I never once took motherhood for granted, but that certainly did not excuse me from the trials of raising my children. I experienced my own health issues, my children’s, and all of the “normal” craziness of home life with toddlers, grade school kiddos, and teens, plus pursuing a career and a healthy marriage. I learned very quickly that, as a mother, your emotions are closely tied to your children’s experiences – when they hurt, you hurt; when they find joy, you find joy.
The advice I would always repeat to myself when times were stressful was “the things that make your child difficult to parent are the very things that they need to be successful adults” Determination, being strong-willed … you get the idea! 🙂 Now, my husband and I are nearing empty-nest life, and I realize how quickly the years have flown by. If I had it all to do over, some things I would do differently would be to slow down, enjoy the moments while actually still in the moments, and create more beautiful photographs. Your children change so quickly, and your photographs are like a magical transport back in time, full of emotion, love, and appreciation. Every time I look back at our family photos, I feel a flood of emotions and that is what I aim to provide for my clients – to show them how beautiful motherhood is!” Marni, Photographer
