“Rachel has been taking our family pictures since my oldest, who is now almost 5, was a newborn. She documents motherhood in an extraordinary way and it’s just so easy to work with her, which is why I always come back to her time and time again. Sometimes it’s so hard to slow down and savor the little moments because life moves so very fast, and those moments come and go way too quickly. I cherish these pictures with all my heart. It’s the pictures full of little details and endless feelings that I always want to remember and Rachel always delivers that!
Motherhood to me is somewhat of a beautiful mess. It’s exhausting, yet inspiring, joyful, exciting, and full of selfless unconditional love. It truly is the best job in the whole wide world.” Emily, Mother
“This sunrise session was photographed in my favorite field this past July. It has the dreamiest light and is pretty year-round. We showed up to the most magical, foggy scene that couldn’t have been more perfect to continue photographing this sweet family. We began working together when their oldest was a perfect angel of a newborn. Since then, I have captured many special milestones for their family, and each session is always a new favorite of mine. This mom has such a special relationship with her girls. Her love is so big for them and vice versa and it shows in every photograph.
Motherhood can be so challenging and so hard at times, but it is also so beautiful and rewarding. As mothers, we are often the ones behind the cameras documenting our children’s lives and we don’t get much of a chance to document our special bond with our children. I want mothers to see how beautiful they are through their photographs. I want them to see the loving way they look at their children and the adoration in their children’s eyes when they look up at them. Photographing mothers and showing them how beautiful they are is the most fulfilling part of my job. Knowing they will have these photographs to look back on for years makes me so happy to think about.” Rachel, Photographer
