“In my emails with new mom Kelly, she chatted to me about how she wanted the newborn session to feel in regards to photography. ” We prefer more documentary style and less posed photography.  Relaxed and comfy is what I’m aiming for.” As a film photographer, that was my goal as well – photographing them in their home and caring for their baby as they do in the different rooms of their house all in a natural way.

They have many vintage record albums passed down from Eric’s father that we just as a backdrop to photograph their newborn son.  Kelly & Eric also had sentimental items from their wedding in Ireland, that they wanted to have photographed with the baby, because it was meaningful to them.

Both Kelly and Eric are so calm, gentle, and sweet with their baby.  Kelly has been a nanny for 20 years, so her experience taking care of children gave her a good foundation for her first child.  She mentioned to me over email that she was in a sleep-deprived haze with her new baby, but she was so calm and put together that I would have never guessed that!” Lauren, Photographer
