Today we’re welcoming Kate Marie Portraiture to the Fount community! Read on to hear Kate’s reflection on this motherhood session:

“I had had the opportunity to work with and be photographed by Lauren, and was beyond delighted and honored when she asked if I would photograph a motherhood session with her and her kiddos. She is so talented and her sweet babies were so sweet. I loved photographing them and getting to know each of their little personalities during our time together. We chose a very outdoorsy location as the children love nature and love to explore. They go on a lot of family nature walks and it was so much fun to watch them be so inquisitive to all of the things they stumbled upon.

As a mother myself, knowing that we are often the ones behind the camera documenting our family’s life, I love to create art for other mothers that actually includes them and shows the sweet bond that they have with their little people. From the way their tiny heads rest on mama’s shoulder, to the endearing way they look up to their mama… how they bury their faces in our chests when overcome with laughter, and giggle with delight at the simple magic of a sheet being tossed up into the air… these moments in time with our kids are so fleeting and I want to create images that freeze those moments for us to remember forever.” Kate, Photographer
