“It has been three years since we lost my mother to breast cancer. We spent every moment after her diagnosis taking in all that she was. Listening to her stories. Holding each other. Recording her voice. We wanted to relish in each day and live in the moment. It was only after she passed that I realized how fleeting life truly is.
It made me realize that motherhood is in the little moments. Camping in the backyard. Dance parties in the morning. Belly laughs in the bath. Looking back, my only regret was being too afraid to pick up the camera. When I found Tory, I was immediately drawn to her photojournalistic approach to photography. She just has this effortless way of capturing moments that are hard to put into words. And while I may not be able to pick up the camera with my mom now, capturing these photos gives me some peace of mind knowing that my children will have these memories to hold onto for years to come.” Kristina, Mother
“The session was photographed in the family’s home in Littleton Colorado. For newborn sessions photographing in your home adds a whole other layer of intimacy to the session. Since I have worked with this family a number of times, I know that they trust my creative process and me. Being able to honor motherhood in a beautiful way is really important and fulfilling to me. I also strive to capture motherhood in an honest and meaningful way through photographs.” Tory, Photographer
