When we received this submission, we were instantly drawn in, not only to the connection between the new mother, Dani, and her new baby, but also to the nursery. The details and aesthetic are stunning and deserve a feature all on their own. Yesterday we shared the
newborn portion of this session, today we are sharing the nursery.

Here is what Dani shared about designing Janie’s nursery and the encouragement she has for others preparing space for their new babes…
“Storytelling has always played a huge role in my inspiration and design process. For our daughter’s nursery I drew inspiration from the freshness of spring felt in Virginia gardens before the first bloom pops. My vision was to create a space that would feel airy yet homey and feminine without the fuss.
After finding my inspiration I looked for images that helped me assemble a color palette and potential patterns or furniture pieces. Once I’d built a color palette and basis of design I began looking for pieces that fit within these design parameters. Finally, I assembled a page with all potential paint colors, fabric patterns, area rugs, lighting and furniture pieces to make sure everything flows nicely and compliments one another.
