“As a mother of 2 little girls, I could not help but have an overabundance of photos of them growing up, but I often found myself missing from several of the pictures. After all these years, I knew I couldn’t let these visual memories of my babies without me pass by any longer. This year, I made a commitment to be more present in photos with them. To celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary, I reached out to Janet to take our photos and she provided our family with the most beautiful and meaningful moments of what life has been like with our babies.

Admittedly, Motherhood did not come easy to me. The sleepless nights on repeat added to the difficulty. Over the years, I realized that what felt like mundane routines actually were some of the most impactful and cherished memories for my babies. My girls have taught me so much about what it means to live in the moment!  I feel so eternally grateful that my precious babies continue to remind me not to take this for granted.  What a blessing it is to love, nurture and be their mother. It is a role I don’t take lightly and one that I am so fortunate to experience with them everyday.” Katy, Mother

 

 

“Katy is a dear friend and fellow photographer, so when she asked me to photograph her darling little family I felt incredibly honored.  Because we are close friends and talk regularly about our little ones – their new quirks and silly mannerisms, the precious things they do that melt our hearts, the moments that unfold that we wish we could cling to forever, I walked into this session feeling like I knew Katy’s heart for her children in a unique way.

I know how she holds her youngest, Emma every night and rocks her to sleep.  It is so sweet to know how the girls love to play “beauty salon” and do each other’s hair. I’ve received plenty of iPhone snaps of Katy’s ‘professional’ make up and hair styles created by her girls.  Hearing the squeals of a “kitchen dance party” going on in the background during a phone call brings me joy. What better way to handle a hard day than a dance party to Mom and Dad’s wedding song?
