“Teresa reached out to me soon after she found out that she was pregnant because documenting her family through photographs is a huge priority to both her and her husband. We met at Lake Erie, Michigan before I moved to San Francisco.  They loved the beach setting and we were able to bring their little one to the beach for the very first time during this session. She absolutely loved exploring the sand and the water while I was able to capture her wonder and awe ~ it was definitely mesmerizing for her! This also allowed us to focus on Teresa’s pregnancy with her second, who will join their family soon!

Working with Teresa was a dream. She knew that she wanted her family captured on film to document the essence of this anticipatory time before they welcomed their new little one to the world. The entire family was prepared to be in the moment with me during the session and it resulted in the most beautiful images to frame for their walls.

Every time I photograph a mother I witness the universal truths of motherhood: the inherent beauty, resilience, wonder, and infinite worth of each mother. These qualities are beautiful to me and remind me of my own “why” in photography and motherhood both.
