“This session took place right around the year mark of my last cancer treatment and subsequent remission. After a two-year battle with lymphoma, that started when I was pregnant with our fourth child and only girl, it has been so important for me to document our family’s growth and journey through this extremely difficult season. The Lord has granted us so many moments of pure joy with our little ones over the last couple of years, and their precious smiles have boosted my spirits and displayed God’s goodness to us in the midst of suffering.

This particular session with Ginnifer felt like a celebration of our family gaining back our time together, and she did an amazing job portraying the gratitude we feel being with each other in this new season!  As my appearance has changed with multiple chemotherapy treatments, so has my heart adapted and grown to more fully appreciate the gift of life, and especially the gift of motherhood.

With the unspeakable threat looming of not being able to raise my babies, it has only made every experience and every moment of motherhood a deeper gift that I have come to fully appreciate more than ever before. I cherish the details of their smallness, the laughter, the play, the tenderness and connection shown in these images.
