I have been capturing Emily and her sweet family since before she had her second child. Emily was referred to me by another loyal client, who worked with her in the local hospital. After our session went so smoothly, I was honored to capture Emily’s pregnancy with Reid and his newborn session, while also including a few extended family members.
Emily and her husband Jason are physicians and appreciate documenting their family, at least annually, especially their boys’ childhood stages and momentous events. During this session, the weather was a bit overbearing with excessive wind and little shade-but Emily persevered, threw her hair up, and kept smiling! The boys, as always, were so playful and happy during our time, it was easy to capture their sweet personalities.
This gorgeous setting is Horsetooth Reservoir in Fort Collins Colorado. My clients had just moved to Fort Collins and wanted a picturesque location to commemorate their relocation. It’s always a pleasure working with families that just let the session take its course- allowing us to get some gorgeous and authentic photos.
Capturing motherhood brings tears to my eyes for so many different reasons. As a pediatric nurse, I’ve seen too much sorrow and loss, that capturing happiness makes me so warm. Being a mother of three busy children, I feel as though I can relate to my clients. My goal is always to capture authentic, raw, and stunning moments of stages in parenthood and childhood alike. As mothers, we often see the worst in ourselves as parents, not having enough time to take in the little things (noises, movements, smells), not slowing down enough to appreciate sweet words of encouragement or just being too tired to reflect on how great of a job we are doing. The ability to capture the beauty, elegance, and timelessness of motherhood in various stages allows us to physically see our accomplishments-happy, healthy, beautiful children and their love for the one who created them.” Beth, Photographer
